On Sunday, 14 June, my anthem O Lux Beata Trinitas was performed at Evensong in Trinity College, Cambridge, marking the conclusion of Dame Sally Davies’ tenure as Master of the College.
Written in recognition of Dame Sally’s remarkable contribution to the College, the work sets the ancient hymn O Lux Beata Trinitas in music that explores the image of divine light through luminous textures, surging energy and moments of blazing intensity. It was performed by The Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge under the direction of Steven Grahl, and I was especially delighted to have attended the service in person.
The performance came shortly before the choir recorded a new album, From Everlasting to Everlasting, devoted to my music and bringing together several recent sacred works that are currently unrecorded.
